Mexico is the 13th largest independent country in the world and is one of the most highly visited tourist destinations. With over 113 million people calling it home, the country is both large in size and in population. The country is made up of 31 states and the capital city is known as the Federal District. While Mexico has had a long and, at times, a very difficult history, they have overcome much and continue to develop as a country of power and influence.
Mexico flourishes in biodiversity. With over 200,000 species of wildlife and plantlife, the country has turned its focus in recent years to preserving these natural treasures. They used to have one of the fastest rates of rainforest eliminations in the world, but they have taken steps to protect much of the rainforests, and have given protections to many endangered species. There is no doubt that Mexico is a place of great natural beauty and it’s government is seeking to protect and preserve that beauty for future generations to enjoy.
The weather system in Mexico varies greatly. In the southern parts of the country, the weather remains warm and constant throughout the entire year. In the northern areas, the winter months can bring cooler temperatures. While the country can experience high temperatures as well, the weather tends to remain predictable, which is why many of the resorts see an influx of guests who are there to take advantage of the sun and lovely beaches.
Due to an interesting and complicated history, Mexican culture is thick and complex as well. Adopting cultural traditions from various different people who have come into the mix over the years, the culture is a unique blend and variety. The locals are very proud of their culture, and they love to celebrate it with vibrant colors and fun-filled celebrations. They display their country’s flag with pride and wear the colors with excitement as the welcome visitors to the party.
Mexico is a greatly diverse and fascinating country. One could spend months traveling through its regions and never fully comprehend all that truly is Mexico.
