Tennessee is in the south-eastern part of the United States, bordered by eight other states. Tennessee is divided into three main regions. Travellers can pick their favourite, or spend time in each one. East Tennessee is most recognized for The Blue Ridge Mountains. The area is best view from the scenic highway, with many places along the way to stop and explore. The mountains stretch further into the Great Smoky Mountains where Clingmans Dome, the state’s highest point, can be found. Middle Tennessee is filled with wildlife and farmland. Marked by the Highland Rim and the Nashville Basin, this area was once the trade route of Native Americans as well as the destination of 18th and 19th century settlers. West Tennessee is home of the Gulf Coastal Plain, including the Mississippi embayment. This area is desired for its rolling hill, streams, and bluffs.
There is so much to see and do. Music lovers will want to visit Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and Music Row, as well as Memphis’ Beale Street and Graceland. The Great Smoky Mountains is a vacation paradise with Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. See the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo, and then stop by Lookout Mountain and the underground Ruby Falls. The Hermitage, Tennessee Aquarium, and Jack Daniels Distillery are also not to be missed.
